28th March 2025 - JACE Training Insight Day
Key Stage Four students were given the opportunity to visit JACE Training in Wallington to explore childcare as a possible future career pathway.
The taster session included a lesson on Art Ideas for Young Children. Students were shown how to encourage young children to: paint with brushes, hand print, make cards and uncooked playdough. Students engaged in discussions with the co-ordinator regarding how they would prepare and set up the activity. The expected learning outcomes for each activity were explained, along with the Health and Safety risks which need to be taken into consideration.
Students were given details of the courses JACE Training offers and the various levels that are available for study.
After completing this activity, the students were given a private tour of one of the nurseries attached to JACE Training, which gave a lasting impression of the workplace and the environment in which they could work if they were to choose childcare as a career pathway.
