T Levels
Get a mix of learning in the classroom and in a placement
Age: 16 to 19
Cost: Free
Leads to: Higher Education, apprenticeship or a job

Careers with a T Level include:
Administrator, Digital Content Creator, Engineer, Nursery Nurse Assistant, Nurse, Accountant
Traineeships
Develop new skills in the workplace and in the classroom.
Age: 16 to 24 or 25 with an EHC plan
Cost: free
Leads to: Apprenticeship, job or further study
Length: 6 weeks - 1 year
As a trainee you'll get:
- Training to prepare you for work
- Support to improve your English, Maths and digital skills
- A work placement of at least 70 hours. You will not be paid for the work placement but employers may be able to support you with travel or food expenses
Vocational Technical Qualifications (VTQs)
Gain skills and experience in a specific job or sector, such as childcare and engineering
Age: 16 and over
Cost: Free
Leads to: Further study, volunteering or employment
There are different types and levels of VTQs including:
- BTEC: Level 1 to 7
- Cambridge National: Level 1 & 2
- Cambridge Technical: Level 2 & 3
- T Level: Level 3
