Digitisation Officer Museum digitisation officers digitise and document collections. Museums digitise their collections to ensure a digital copy remains, even if the original item suffers damage. This involves photographing and scanning objects and documents before uploading them to a central management system. Once uploaded, digitisation officers make detailed notes and label each entry before cataloguing them in the museum's digitised collection. You can then add the digitised images to websites and online catalogues.

Heritage Manager Heritage managers handle the conservation, management and access provision for important heritage sites like museums. Their work might also relate to other places, like ancient monuments, buildings and even landscapes. They're often tasked with managing, recruiting and training other employees and volunteers. Heritage managers also deal with finances, such as securing funding from agencies, working with councils, communicating with tourism agencies and cooperating with local history groups. They also arrange for and oversee the restoration and preservation of important artefacts, monuments and buildings. The job could be at a national museum or independently owned site.

Museum Registrar A registrar is a collection specialist in charge of managing the internal and external movements of exhibits and artefacts within the museum. The curator sometimes does this job in smaller museums, but larger museums may hire a separate registrar for this important role. Registrars coordinate shipments of objects to and from the museum and organise the secure storage of artefacts. They also schedule the movement and logistics of new exhibits within the museum and negotiate rental terms for exhibits on loan from other museums.
