British Values
In accordance with the DfE’s guidance on promoting British values in schools, we at The Limes College recognise our duty and deliver a balanced curriculum that ensures our young people leave us better prepared for life in modern Britain.
Across the curriculum we deliver topics that enhance: an understanding of how citizens can influence decision-making through the democratic process an understanding that the freedom to hold other faiths and beliefs is protected in law an acceptance that people having different faiths, beliefs or practices to oneself (or having none) should be accepted and tolerated, and should not be the cause of prejudicial or discriminatory behaviour an understanding of the importance of identifying and combating discrimination an understanding of the connection between actions and consequences and to distinguish between right and wrong.
The fundamental and principle right to feel and be safe is paramount in all aspects of the school. Our primary aim for every child is to develop a healthy respect for themselves, to build self-esteem, self-worth and confidence as a learner. We place great emphasis on providing encounters and participation in events and celebrations to broaden all pupils’ experiences and awareness of others.
