Destinations

The Limes College has a statutory duty to provide the Local Authority with post 16 destination information.  We will monitor leavers for 2 years which allows us to find out if intended destinations at the end of KS4, correlate with ‘actual’ destinations post 16. This provides an opportunity for us to evaluate the quality of our careers support and provision. Students and the families of young people that have been unable to sustain their post 16 destination can contact us and we will offer further support and advice and make referrals to relevant agencies offering targeted help and intervention. Our main objective is to support all learners in securing positive outcomes so tracking and ‘keeping in touch’ consent, allows us to identify and re-engage with all leavers, especially those that are most at risk of becoming NEET (Not in Education, Employment or Training).

Alumni

Because of the positive relationships we build with our students, many come back to visit us; some to share their success stories, some for support, some just to say thank you and some just for a catch up. No matter what the reason for their visit, they always have a story to tell about their career and work experiences after leaving Limes.  This is a resource that we want to embrace, encourage and continue to grow. Our Alumni network of ex-students can really help our current students with:

  • Mentoring and advice
  • Insights into career paths and work
  • Sharing lived experiences of their careers and work journey
  • Being a relatable role model
  • Raising aspirations and expectations
  • Motivation and inspiration
