1st October 2024 - 6.30pm - Scholarships, Bursaries, and More: Your Future with the British Army Uncover the amazing possibilities available through the British Army, including financial grants and scholarships tailored for students, as well as cutting-edge training programs recognised worldwide. This is your opportunity to learn how you can acquire essential skills, enjoy distinctive experiences, and obtain financial assistance for your education. Our Army Officer bursaries are there to support you throughout your undergraduate education, so there’s nothing standing in your way. We offer several different bursaries, each with different eligibility criteria. Depending on what you study, your performance, and which Corps you’re looking to join, we can provide you with the support you need to go far. If you're applying to or currently at university, you could be eligible for a bursary of up to £42,750 (£75,000 for medical students). Whether you're thinking about a future with the British Army or are eager to learn about the fantastic opportunities that lie ahead, this event is designed for you. Join us on Tuesday 1st October at 18:30-19:30 to learn about the support young people receive throughout their careers, as well as the financial support we offer.

9th October 2024 - 11am-12pm - Bring careers aboard with Maritime UK Week We invite you to the Maritime Virtual Careers Chat on Wednesday 9th October 11 – 12pm. Featuring a Ship Superintendent, a Mechanical Engineer, a Marine Pilot and an Associate Naval Architect. This event aims to raise awareness of maritime roles, provide real-life insights from professionals in the field, challenge gender stereotypes and encourage diversity in the industry. This session is targeted at KS3 and above students.

11th October 2024 - 10am - Exploring the Law Industry with Hilda Kwofie Want to know what it takes to study Law and pursue a career in it? During this Industry Spotlight Talk, we’ll unpack these thoughts with Hilda from Bar in The Community. There’ll be information on the Law industry but also different roles and experiences you can have within the workplace.

We’re joined by Charlie, an unregistered Barrister, as she shares her experiences getting into the industry and the different pathways she’s taken to get to where she is today. We’ll also talk about how to navigate roles and expectations as a woman in Law.

15th October 2024 - 4.30pm - Digdata Virtual Work Experience Free virtual work experience events with Meta for your students this October, designed to develop key employability skills such as problem solving, data literacy, storytelling, and presentation. Hosted on Microsoft Teams, these sessions take place outside of school hours, making them easily accessible. Students will enjoy: • A 45-minute briefing with the Meta team • The opportunity to complete a career challenge at their own pace • Certification upon completion These events provide valuable insights into emerging careers and help students build skills that will enhance their future education and employment choices. First Step - Years 7,8,9 - Tuesday 15th October at 4.30pm (45-minute briefing session on MS Teams) Gain virtual work experience with Meta! Goal: Join Meta’s Marketing Science team to help make WhatsApp even more amazing by giving everyone the features they want most! Your Mission: We asked 300 people of all ages what they’d love to see next. Now, we need your help to figure out which features to focus on: Safety Online: Keep your chats private and secure. Animations and Filters: Add cool effects and fun to your messages. Live Location: Share where you are in real time with friends. What this career challenge will involve: Find Out What Each Age Group Loves See what teens, young adults, adults, and seniors think is the coolest feature. Decide which feature to develop first for each age group based on their favourites.

22nd October 2024 - 3.30pm - Apprenticeships with the BBC If you’re interested in an apprenticeship at the world’s largest public broadcasting organisation, join this webinar to gain insight into the range of apprenticeship opportunities at the BBC, from journalism, project management, data science, engineering and much more. We will hear from members of the BBC’s Early Careers team about the opportunities available, what the recruitment process is like and how to make your application stand out from the crowd. We'll also hear from current apprentices about their journeys and what life as an apprentice at the BBC is like.
