13th June 2024 - UCAS Conservatoire and Drama School Evening Invitation A ‘UCAS Conservatoire and Drama School’ evening is taking place at Glenthorne High School on Thursday 13th June between 6pm-7pm in their main Hall. As one of their school commitments is ensuring equality of opportunity for all in the creative subjects, they have taken the decision this year to open this event up to schools in our local community. This evening is targeted towards those in Y10-Y12. If you have an ambition of becoming a professional actor, dancer, designer or musician, this evening will give you an insight into how to apply for these types of courses and what student life is like when studying them. 18th June 2024 - 3.30pm - British Army Apprenticeships in Intelligence & Comms webinar Amazing Apprenticeships are hosting a webinar on 18th June for those who would like to learn more about the range of British Army apprenticeship opportunities in Intelligence and Comms. We'll hear from apprentices within the Royal Signals and Military Intelligence about their career journey, what their apprenticeships involve and why they chose an apprenticeship with the Army, the number 1 apprenticeship employer in the UK and Ireland.

24th June 2024 - Tesco Launch Stronger Starts Apprenticeship Programme Tesco have recently announced the launch of their new Stronger Starts Retail Apprenticeship programme, as part of their commitment to help young people achieve a stronger start in life. Stronger Starts is one of the few apprenticeship programmes that doesn’t require any qualifications or experience as entry requirements. After completing the programme, apprentices gain a Level 2 National Standard in Retail, which is the equivalent of 5 GCSE passes. The programme opens for applications on 24th June 2024. Tesco Stronger Starts - Retail Apprenticeship Programme
Watch this exclusive webinar with the Early Careers team from Tesco to learn more about their Stronger Starts Retail Apprenticeship programme, opening for applications in June 2024.
Stronger Starts is one of the few apprenticeship programmes that doesn’t require any qualifications or experience as entry requirements. The programme will include a blend of learning activities and hands-on experience on the shop floor. Those joining without a GCSE pass or equivalent in maths and English will gain these during the programme.

25th June - 6.30pm-7.30pm - Virtual Parent & Carer Open Evening for creative industries Did you know that there are over 2.3 million jobs in the creative industries and the sector employs more people than the automotive sector, life sciences, oil and gas and aerospace combined? It’s such a vast industry it’s not surprising the different job roles and pathways are a mystery to many, but we want to change that. Featuring professionals from a range of creative industries such as visual effects, film, craft, music and more, this series of open evenings will introduce some of the exciting career pathways available in this thriving sector and showcase opportunities for young people and their schools/colleges to gain more direct experience with employers.
