• Important Message Update Free School Meal Vouchers

  For a number of years, schools in Sutton have issued free school meal vouchers to eligible parents, funded through a national Government grant. This grant ended in February 2026. The Council recognises that families value these vouchers and has decided to fund them for an additional four weeks: one week over Easter 2026, one week during May 2026 half term and the first two weeks of the summer holidays July – Aug 2026. This will allow families time to prepare for vouchers to be phased out after the summer 2026 holiday period. Not all Local Authority areas have decided to fund vouchers past February so some resident families in Sutton attending schools outside the Borough may not receive a voucher. • Alternative Learning Trust (ALT) - The Limes College - Significant Change consultation - Wednesday 16th of October 2024

  Significant Change consultation for establishing a new satellite site, formalising a SEN unit, and increasing pupil capacity number for the Limes College.

   

  Sutton Council has the statutory obligation to ensure that there are enough school places available within the Borough. The Local Authority has experienced a rise in the rate of permanent exclusions since COVID-19. As a mitigation, the council, in a collaborative approach, temporarily approved an additional 40 AP places within the Limes College in 2023/2024 for delivering high-quality AP education within the locality and reduce the need for costly, out of borough placements. Due to the rate of demand remaining consistent post-pandemic, the Limes College is seeking approval to permanently increase the College’s PAN number by 40 places.
