For a number of years, schools in Sutton have issued free school meal vouchers to eligible parents, funded through a national Government grant. This grant ended in February 2026. The Council recognises that families value these vouchers and has decided to fund them for an additional four weeks: one week over Easter 2026, one week during May 2026 half term and the first two weeks of the summer holidays July – Aug 2026. This will allow families time to prepare for vouchers to be phased out after the summer 2026 holiday period. Not all Local Authority areas have decided to fund vouchers past February so some resident families in Sutton attending schools outside the Borough may not receive a voucher.
